Meet Dr. Amir Aryaie

OWNER AND FOUNDER OF BMI SURGICAL INSTITUTE

Dr. Aryaie is a board certified surgeon and has completed a Minimally Invasive and Bariatric fellowship at one of the top fellowship programs in the United States at University Hospitals Case Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Aryaie received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, then attended Ross University School of Medicine, where he graduated in the top 5 percent of his class.

He completed his residency at The Jewish Hospital, an affiliate of University of Cincinnati. Once he finished his fellowship at one of the top prestigious MIS/Bariatric fellowships in the United States, he joined Texas Tech University Health Science Center as assistant professor of surgery where he served as Medical Director and Chief of Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Meet Dr. Gonzalez-Jacobo

Dr. Gonzalez-Jacobo is a fellowship-trained Minimally Invasive and Bariatric surgeon. Originally from Miami, he attended University of South Florida Honors College where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in Biomedical Sciences. He then earned his medical degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Gonzalez-Jacobo completed his General Surgery residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Queens, NY. He continued his surgical training at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY where he completed a Fellowship in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive surgery. During his fellowship he was able to refine his endoscopic, robotic and advanced laparoscopic surgical skills. Being Cuban-American he is fluent in Spanish.

He specializes and is experienced in Bariatric, anti-reflux , gastric, and esophageal surgeries as well as other areas of general surgery such as gallbladder and hernia surgery.

Outside of work, Dr. Gonzalez-Jacobo enjoys traveling, fishing and spending time with family. He is looking forward to providing the best care to the Atlanta community.

Meet Ms. Christine Paulin, FNP

Christine Paulin is a Nurse Practitioner at Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgical Institute under the guidance of Dr. Amir Aryaie. She originally attended Snead State Community College in Boaz, AL, where she received an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing. She had over 7 years of hospital nursing experience before continuing her education and earning a Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from Columbus State University in Columbus, GA.
Ms. Christine Paulin is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a dedicated healthcare professional with a passion for bariatric and gastrointestinal medicine. Christine is not only a committed healthcare professional, but she is also a loving wife and devoted mother to four children and a grandson. She is excited to assist in empowering patients to make positive lifestyle changes and healthy lifestyle choices, provide patient education, and enable patients to be in charge of their health to better their overall quality of life.
